Sunday February 15, 2009

We were picked up by Bob and Suzi around 9:45 am and headed north. We went to Big Pine Key to the Flea Market. By the time we got there it was getting pretty hot. We shopped, Bob and Carl went one way and Suzi and I went another. I found a cover up to use for wearing over to the showers or to the pool. I found a lady who paints the most awesome Key West shirts! Of course she was out of my size, so she is going to paint me a shirt and ship it to Amy’s house.

By 1:00 all done at the Flea Market time to head for No Name Key to the No Name Pub. It is a really neat place. It is just a small old building, very quaint. It also has dollar bills hanging all over the ceiling and walls. At one time the IRS made them count all the dollar bills and pay tax on them! At that time there was over $80,000 hanging around!
It is pretty cool to see all these one dollar bills hanging with “Go Blue” and names or stuff written on the bills.

We had great pizza and a waitress that was great. When she talked she sounded just like Pam Krogh. She was as tiny too! We ate pizza until we were stuffed.

Then Bob took us to “Blue Hole” a habitat for alligators and birds. Golly, gee we saw an alligator in the water that was really exciting. Look at all the pictures of this creature! How would you like him as a pet?

We drove through a couple RV parks. Guess what? Suzi made reservations for next February 2010! They will not be traveling without that RV of theirs ever again. They had quite an experience in Key Largo with renting sight on seen. The new Condo is very nice. It is right on the island of Key West right almost downtown.

We went back to their condo for this delicious cake that they had made for their birthdays. Suzi’s was Jan 22 and Bob’s is February 25. We kind of had my birthday and our anniversary too! We enjoyed the cake and ice cream. Yep I need to get the South Beach diet book out and start my exercise program!

We leave in the morning to go north. I don’t want to leave this wonderful, awesome place. Where the weather is perfect everyday and the sun shines all the time.

What a place.
